More than one million pesos withdrawn through the Caja Extra service in Matanzas

More than one million pesos have been withdrawn through the Caja Extra service in the commercial units in the province of Matanzas.

The figure includes the period from January to the end of April, and among the most outstanding municipalities are the provincial capital, Cárdenas, Los Arabos and Perico.

The province has 142 establishments where this service has been activated, and users can withdraw up to five thousand pesos through the Enzona platform.

In a recent interview, Bárbaro Hurtado, development director of Grupo Empresarial de Comercio acknowledged that this is perhaps one of the main weaknesses, because many users come to these establishments in search of cash but are familiar with other platforms such as Transfermóvil.

In addition to this, there is also the resistance to change of the retail workers themselves, who fail to see the opportunity in this modality to withdraw money as it could reduce the high levels of cash in the establishments, even receiving a bonus for each operation.

However, the truth is that since its implementation in 2022 to date, the extra cashier service has not had the expected results despite the fact that it results in better customer service and more effective economic management.

The electronic payment through the QR Code in gateways such as EnZona, is not a routine step, it is part of the informatization of society and the improvement of domestic trade.
