Open Doors to New Contracts
Although each sanitation service offered by the Matanzas MSME Cohise is based on a financial contract from which its workers’ salaries are derived, support collaborations are also part of its program as a non-state management form.
Therefore, the presence of this collective led by Otoniel Candales Morales has become customary on Saturday workdays they have called «courtesy activities,» because whether requested or not by the entity’s administration, they are carried out without a payment agreement, only so that cleanliness and a pleasant environment become part of daily life in every place.
Hence the effort to bring sanitation work to the province’s Health institutions, complementing the greatness of the services offered by our white-coated professionals. The most recent of these calls, carried out at the Paquito González Cué Psychopedagogical Center in the Yumurino city, demonstrated just that.
To Yaima, Alexis, Lucas, Layna, and Osniel — the first to arrive — others such as Isairys, Léster, Surisaray, Yusimí, and Angelito gradually joined. All with their instruments and cleaning supplies, as they do on each volunteer day to reaffirm that «you don’t go to war without a rifle.»
Digna Iris Hernández, Cohise’s general supervisor, with her organizational capacity, distributed the tasks, and down to work. Water began to flow to scrub floors and walls, sanitize bathrooms, and wash windows until achieving the desired purpose: sanitizing the place with maximum quality and thereby stamping the seal of excellence that opens doors to new contracts.
On this intention, Cohise’s director commented:
«The Matanzas Psychopedagogical Center could be part of Cohise’s expansion plan, as we aspire to create a company that exceeds the hundred workers we currently have.»

«Cohise today has a physical presence in specific areas of Matanzas city hospitals, such as intensive and intermediate care units, operating and delivery rooms, as well as in the consultation area of the Faustino Pérez Provincial Hospital.»
«In the case of the Julio Aristegui Villamil hospital in Cárdenas, the MSME handles the institution’s cleaning with 20 workers.»
