U.S. Blockade Affects Education in Matanzas.

With consequences in the material base for study and life, in the furniture and equipment for the advancement of the teaching process, the blockade impacts on the development of the Education sector in Matanzas.

Hedilberto Casanova, provincial director of the sector, said that the blockade on Cuba causes a shortage of toys and teaching aids in the circles and a lack of equipment, such as electric wheelchairs for children with physical and motor disabilities.

Casanova assured that the resources are received through donations or imported from distant countries and at higher prices, such is the case of hearing aid batteries, sports equipment, computers, televisions and laboratory modules.

However, he highlighted the daily effort of educators and the State to obtain remarkable results, the tranquility and stability of the centers and the improvements to the buildings.
