The Current School Year: A Period Full of Challenges

With the joy of reunion in the classrooms, the school year began this September 1 in the province of Matanzas. Iván Rodríguez Larduet, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Young Communists Union, described the stage as a period full of challenges where youth must assert themselves to guarantee the development of all educational processes.

«This start of the school year is a challenge for the communist youth in the province,» Rodríguez Larduet stated in declarations to Radio 26.

The youth leader stressed that it is a «highly strategic» school year that demands the joint effort of provincial and national authorities. In that sense, he announced that actions will focus on strengthening extracurricular and extra-teaching processes, as well as pioneer movements and elections.

«We must assert ourselves to make possible the development of all our processes,» insisted Rodríguez Larduet, who placed special emphasis on vocational training and professional orientation for children, adolescents, and young people. «These are among the main issues we must strengthen in this last stage,» he added.

The provincial first secretary of the UJC highlighted that no educational process would be possible without the accompaniment of the family. «A school year, extracurricular activities in our entire educational institution, would not be possible without the accompaniment of the family as the fundamental cell,» he stated.

It is a school year that begins with the call for unity and shared responsibility. Rodríguez Larduet reiterated that the challenge is enormous, but he trusts that the youth and families of Matanzas will rise to the occasion.
