Congratulations to Tourist Guides on February 21st.

Tourist Guides offer orientation and information about the culture, history, gastronomy and tourist sites of any corner of the planet and, with their performance, they promote this important economic activity for the progress of the communities.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) Juan Carlos García Granda congratulated Cuban tourist guides, creators of experiences, in his X profile, on February 21st, International Day of the practitioners of this profession.
«Today we celebrate the International Day of the Tourist Guide. To the Cuban guides, knowledgeable, hospitable and committed: Thank you for giving the best of yourselves to our visitors!», García Granda posted, referring to those in charge of promoting in the tourism sector the cultural, historical and heritage potential of sites of interest in several countries around the world.

Created on February 21st during the first International Convention of Tourist Guides held in Austria in 1985, the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) is a non-profit professional organization. The date has been celebrated since 1990.
