The 63rd anniversary of the FMC foundation celebrated in Pedro Betancourt (+audio and photos)

With the awarding of the Vanguardia status for their outstanding work, Betancourean women celebrated the provincial act for the 63rd birthday of the Cuban Women Federation.

In the emotional activity, various labor groups from municipalities such as Jagüey Grande, Martí, Calimete and Cárdenas were honored, and especially the local Women and Family Guidance House for its joint work with different organizations, the attention to families in vulnerable situations and the enthusiasm and leadership of its staff.

Likewise, homage was paid to the women who have worked uninterruptedly as members of the organization for 5, 10 and 15 years. Among them, María Eugenia Lavastida Lazo, specialist in Gynecobstetrics, was awarded the 23rd of August Medal and shared her feelings with our radio station.

The final words were given by Odalys García Pérez, secretary general of the FMC in the province, who in addition to receiving the awards from organizations such as the Union of Young Communists, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution and the Ministry of the Interior, among others, expressed the will to extol the role of Cuban women and continue the legacy of Vilma Espín.
