The Contemplative Emerges in the Poetry Collection Las Bailarinas Rojas by Eliseo Abreu

The poetry collection Las bailarinas rojas (The Red Dancers) by Eliseo Abreu Hernández, recently published by the Latido Inquieto publishing house, «radiates art in every image it conceives.»

In the opinion of specialist Amalia Cordero Martínez, it was included in the Eliseo Diego collection based on the maturity of a poet who imprints a musicality that grants a special rhythm to his work.

«…one experiences the change from a state of curiosity to an emotion of enchantment and peace» reflected in the verses, inspired by the polychromatic contemplation of Chinese landscapes, noted Cordero Martínez.

Eliseo Abreu is a writer native to Jovellanos, born in May 1961.

He is considered by critics as one of the most awarded literary figures in this province.

He has more than 90 provincial and national prizes and honorable mentions. His work has been recognized in Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Peru, the United States, and Chile. He is a member of UNEAC.

Among his most recent relevant awards are the José Jacinto Milanés Poetry Prize 2024 for the work Las almas de Fátima and the Ciudad del Che Prize 2023 for Versículos del feriante.

His work, in general, portrays realities, particularly highlighting the contemporary woman, and both his poetry and his prose are distinguished by capturing snippets of daily life and the social conflicts that afflict his fellow human beings.

Therefore, this new proposal of the poetry collection Las bailarinas rojas by Eliseo Abreu promises an approach to new facets of the author.
